Age-ist, Color-ist, and Height-ist
What is the deal with all the laws about being something-IST? Racist, sexist, blah, blah, blah! What if I'm annoyed when someone discriminates by age? No one listens!
Oh sure, don't drink before some magical age (21). Don't smoke before some other magical age (18). Despite the fact that I've never smoked and barely drink (and am well over the legal age for both), it's annoying that you can get in trouble for saying, "He's black," but someone's age...wooaaaah there!
Ok, the #1 argument against this would be that you can't change your race, sexual whateverness (though some would debate this). But can you change your age? Yes, but you can't stop changing it either!
If I'm ever told, "Sir, you can't go on the rollercoaster; you're too old," then I might just throw a hissy fit! Not really, actually, but this whole "-ist" thing is getting out of hand, so why not just added another to the list?! Pretty soon you won't be able to call the sky blue because you might offend someone who doesn't care for the color. Ahhh, serious stupidness!!
(And is there such a thing as being "height-ist" yet, amongst the slew of ridiculous politically correct tolerances? I'm kind of short; maybe I could sue McDonald's for having their urinals too high or something.)
