Age-ism -- It's Really Real!

A long time ago, I made a satirical rant about people being "ageist" -- you know, discriminating because of one's age. I didn't actually think it was this bad though: The Register: Social networking site bans oldies over sex offender fears Apparently the social networking site, Faceparty, has banned users over the age of 36. Why? Because

"We understand that only a minority of older users are sex offenders, but you must understand that we cannot tell which"

The official notice contains this statement, in reference to working with the authorities on a new (and very questionable) law:

...we were left with no option but to terminate a huge amount of accounts, and without notice, immediately

It's sad; everyone seems to be losing their minds, right before of my eyes. I'm going to guess that site membership will drop slightly...ok, significantly. Nothing like shooting yourself in the foot to ensure an empty gun, eh?
